Betty on the beach

Last day with our visitors Uncle J and Aunty B today. After the torrential rain yesterday, we woke to blue skies. We went to Pals in the morning; I took several blippable photos of this very pretty village. On the way to Girona to catch the train this afternoon, we went to the beach at Sa Riera, after all you can't visit the Costa Brava and not go to the beach. Of all the photos I took today I liked this the best, because I feel it really conveys Betty's personality. I'm not great at photographing people, and this quick unposed shot worked well. She's someone who's full of fun and good humour, whatever life throws at her.

J&B live not far from us in France, but we don't see as much of them as we might -- just an occasional evening together, usually over good food and wine (J is a retired chef). So it was nice to spend a long weekend with them and have a chance to talk about everything under the sun, while consuming numerous glasses of cava and white wine -- the empty bottle collection is impressive :)

PS for chaiselongue: Betty is Welsh, and it was interesting to encounter quite a number of Catalan words for which the Welsh is very similar.
