Backblip: Bull Elk Calling to his Harem

I make no apology for blipping another elk photo (following my picture 3 days ago) as we had a super opportunity to photograph this other elk soon after we arrived in Jasper. He'd brought the traffic to a standstill (see Graham Colling's first extra on his blip here) and then started bellowing to his harem which was stationed nearby. The sound was somewhat unnerving; we understand that the rutting season has started so he presumably had some exciting ideas in his mind!

Up to our arrival in Jasper it had been a super day of photographing waterfalls, starting with Tangle Falls in the mist (my first extra - and also Graham's main blip), Sunwapta Falls and then Athabasca Falls (my second extra).

I didn't have time to upload this blip on the day, as we discovered that the travel agents who organised the trip had (hopefully unknowingly) booked us into accommodation here in Jasper the standard of which fell far below expectations in terms of facilities and cleanliness (and certainly not worthy of the price we'd paid). This meant that our fab leaders (Mike and John, along with John's wife Debs) had to make some frantic phone calls to the agents in the US and UK in order to find alternative accommodation. They did a super job of this difficult task so we eventually ended up in lovely rooms elsewhere in Jasper.
