If you can't beat them...

Solace Day 10. Wrenbury Wharf.

On down the Llangollen canal, passing on the way Wrenbury Wharf where all my canal adventures began.  Back in the 60s a friend of my Mum was saying her son had taken a job running a hire fleet and building narrowboats.  That conversation was followed by her saying he kept asking to go down for a holiday but being a widow she had no crew.  Mum quickly volunteered a crew (me) and two extra passengers her and Dad.

The wharf has changed a lot since then, the mill (to the left) has been improved visually and I suspect internally and the building where John built boats knocked down and replaced by the smart building in the centre.  Now the wharf runs Anglo Welsh hire boats.
