Edafest Day 21

Flying solo!

Well not quite Grumpa was there and that's who she is smiling at but it's the first time I've done bath and bed without at least Daddy here. John of course has gone to see the show. We couldn't have enjoyed it more last night. Grace's performance was superb and so were the other lead actors. A most professional performance all round and technically superb, there is nothing amateur about these productions. They had to clear £230,000 to cover costs and they have done it.
I sat next to the mum of the little boy who was playing Jeremy, she was ecstatic and is going to see it again on Saturday. I wish I was.
At the end we went round to the stage door as usual where everyone spills out into the street to greet everybody - lots of hugs and congratulations - and then the heavens opened. Rain of biblical proportions. Grace's friend Lizzy, who did a magical performance as the Baroness, gave us a lift home, but the walk to the car park was like crossing rivers instead of roads. Grace was in flip flops and Lizzy had left her coat in the car.

Sunny this morning but you could tell it was the true Autumn today with a cooler edge to the wind for the first time. Nontheless we walked to the Common for coffee and swings.
They were busy spreading wood chippings on the ground around the picnic tables courtesy of the tree that fell down earlier in the week. Eda was intrigued watching all this and the varied dogs that were with the helpers.

She had fun in the bath, she certainly needed it after her encounter with lentil cake and cream cheese earlier in the day - or was it cream cheese with lentil cake!

(I know I have blipped bathtime before but she's in the big bath now)
