The little dog was moving stealthily toward the big greyhound with the very fancy collar.  The little dog's person finally realized what was going on* The two dogs finally met and the result was a wonderful blip, but I wasn't quite fast enough on the draw....I also liked the motion in the pattern the lattice patio roof  cast on the floor.

High drama in Washington today as the very brave Christine Blaisey Ford and Brett Kavannaugh testify before a congressional committee. She claims he got drunk and sexually molested her at a high school party when she was fifteen. He categorically denies it. The Republicans have hired a specialized attorney to do their questioning for them because they all want to distance themselves as much as possible from the whole proceedings.

It isn't over yet and I don't want to speculate on what is going to happen, but having lived through the Anita Hill hearings on more or less the same subject against Clarence Thomas, almost thirty years ago, I have one observation. If any of the people on the committee today had behaved anything like the way they did in 1991 (and some of the members have been on both committees), they would be finished. At least  women and the #Me Too Movement have accomplished that much. There won't be any more talk about 'boys will be boys'  or 'that was thirty years ago, who cares?' . Dianne Feinstein pointed out that this was not an indictment on either individual but MUST be taken seriously and it IS a job interview for Kavannaugh.

I'm collecting a few quotes but will wait to see what happens before I decide which ones resonate most.

OilMan's observation: After all the drama over his behavior, and the truly vile way the committee treated Anita Hill, Clarence Thomas has turned out to be pretty much of a dud. He never asks questions and has only written one or two opinions.
