A day of bridges

I enjoyed a great blipmeet today, organised by Hildasrose at Shugbourough Hall/Estate, a National Trust property next to Cannock Chase. The house was the home of Patrick Anson, the Earl of Lichfield and includes the rooms he lived in, which now display some of his photographic equipment along with many of his images.  The studio lighting equipment looks very similar to the type of thing we might use today, only the cameras have changed significantly.  With his access to the Royal Family, many of the photographs on display are of people and events most of us will be familar with, so they carry an extra touch of historical context.

Out on the estate there are several bridges, The rivers Sow and Trent meet in the foreground of my main blip next to the Essex Bridge, and closer to the house there are three (?) of the lattice metal bridges in the extra. There are also the canal and railway bridges we walked over and under on our failed quest to locate the cliff.

You can see three of the blippers in the extra,  LooseCanon, Hildasrose and Rob (SHH in HR's blip write ups)  Technophobe and I were on the bank photographing them :-)  Worth following the links to their blips as we have all chosen different views so you will get an idea of what is there.  A follow up blipmeet is likely as we didn't see the rest of the house.
