Spirits Alive!

Dear Diary,

I bundled up and went to the Spirit's Alive presentation in the Eastern Cemetery in Portland, Maine.  Good gracious it was freezing with a stiff breeze blowing of the harbor making the wind chill in the 20'sF.  But it was so worth it.  This years performance was called Scandals, Scoundrels and Sinners.  Five professional actors portrayed characters from Portland's past. The last encounter was with this lady, the "spirit of the Burying Ground", who enlightened us on some of the Native American traditions in the area.

The event lasted an hour and at only $10.00 per ticket it was the best buy in town I would say.  All proceeds go to aid in the upkeep of this cemetery which is celebrating its 350th anniversary this year.  (All the ghosts signed the big card!)  Several of my ancestors are buried here so I am happy to help out.
