Poppies

Rochester Cathedral is one of the Medway organisations hosting the '5000 Poppies' exhibition thus November.

The exhibition features thousands of poppies knitted by the local community to comemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War.

The poppies in the Cathedral that I have blipped were attached to camouflage netting and suspended from one of the arches along the main aisle. My extra shows more poppies on display.

Rochester Cathedral is a beautiful building - both its interior and exterior- and is the second oldest cathedral in England, the first being Canterbury.

It's been a lovely autumn day , dry and cold but sunny with a blue sky. We enjoyed a day out in Rochester, having lunch at our favourite Thai retaurant and browsing the shops and galleries.
