Down Your Way

This week's entry for Wide Wednesday, a stitched image of just three of the many Great War wreaths seen around the village, down our way today. Since 1914 wreaths have been placed outside or nearby the houses 100 years on from where a soldier who was killed in the war had lived -  I have blipped a selection over the years.

On our walk today we noticed at least 6 new wreaths tied to lamposts so there must have been great activity in the past 3 or 4 days as these are all new to us and we walk the village most days.

We also paid a visit to the village war memorial which the Parish Council had recently refurbished in time for commemorating the end of the Great War.

Another lovely sunny autumn day, cool breeze but unseasonably warm for mid-November.

Thank you Freyjad for hosting widwed 141118.
