An ordinary life....

One man and his dog...

There was a break in the weather this morning so David grabbed that moment to take Lola out for a walk.  Sadly they had just got out of the car and started walking when the sky darkened and they were caught in a hale storm.  There was even thunder and lightening.  They persevered and were just back home again when the weather cleared, blue sky appeared and the sun shone.  Typical!

This afternoon we returned to finish a task we began on 9th October, which was empty boxes full of stuff that was packed away when we did put in the new kitchen during the rest of the building work.  It's been two years now since the kitchen was completed but we don't like to rush into things!!!

Four boxes were duly emptied, with the contents of three finding new places to live, and one box headed to the charity shop.  If I could be bothered to photograph, advertise, sell, package and post the contents, we would probably make some money but I can't, so our loss is charity's gain.

Lola was keen to help, having a good sniff at each item as it came out of its box but she soon realised there really was nothing to interest her and lay and watched with eyes half closed, ready to resume her investigations  should an interesting item appear.

Once the emptying was done, David took a breather for 5 minutes and sat in the Book Nook (corner of the living room beside the book cases with comfy chair and throw) and lamented the fact that since building the garden room, we rarely use the living room any more.  I reminded him that once the Christmas decorations are up we will use this room more as the real Christmas tree will be in here.   The mention of Christmas decorations elicited a deep groan of joy from David.  At least that's how I have chosen to interpret it.
