As day ends......

.....the sun gently sets over Pahurehure Inlet.

Pahurehure means 'angry water' in Maori because of the wild and turbulent waters of Manukau Harbour. When the tide is in and it's calm the reflections are stunning, then as it empties little waterways and pools are formed and wading birds arrive to feed, a view which is forever changing creating many moods through all the seasons. This view sits at the bottom of mum's cousins garden and can be seen from the house. I certainly wouldn't get any housework done if I lived here, not with this view!

Notes from my diary - a beautiful calm morning and very warm. Mum and her three cousins and myself were all dressed in blue, not planned just happened, we were 'girls in blue' for the day. We sat and watched the tide come in while we chatted over tea, coffee and cake. A trip to the garden centre was in order to gather and talk plants, then a lovely lunch was had while out. A quiet afternoon with more chatting, remembering school days and family time, lots of laughing between the cousins and slowly a time frame was being established for me.

A thoroughly enjoyable day being in the company of family, special times :)
