Sea day

We are cruising up the east coast of NZ with land in sight some of the day. Nice weather and calm seas.

We went to a talk from the Captain who could be a stand up comic if he wasn’t a captain. He has a joke for every occasion and is very entertaining. He was charged with assisting while this ship was being built 12 years ago and has been the captain since its launch. What I thought would be a 20 minute talk went on for two hours. Amazing how they construct these huge vessels. Although there are almost 3000 guests it is often empty if you go for a wander in the not so popular spots.

I finished The Dry by a new author Jane Harper. She was excellent, so easy to read and the book had a few twists that caught me unawares. Very Aussie. Now just starting another called the Break....

We are in the theatre ready for the evening show. What a lazy life.

Had a swim, a nap, a lounge in the Persian Garden ( you’ll have to research that one) and three meals.
