Matuku moana in flight

The white faced heron is one of the most common birds to be seen at Snells Beach. It is an unusual day for me to not see at least one, and usually many Matuku moana. This morning there were a few gulls around, and some starlings on the sand, but otherwise it was just the herons.

The extra is of the flowers at the top of one of the Pohutukawa on the bank above the cliff edge  of our property. Please note the bee. It has been so wonderful these last two days to hear the bees in the trees as I used to when younger. The last few years there was this silence, but it seems the bees have recovered.
