Following the sunset

This was as far along the waterfront that I could go yesterday and I ended up helping a young man take a selfie with this view behind.

We had a lovely day which saw us walking across to the Rialto Bridge ( in search of a cash machine, after finding one we found lots more). We had coffee near the market while sat watching the world go by. Sadly the hands propping up the building ( sculpture) have now been removed from this area. We then walked down to the Accademia bridge where I wanted to take photos and had lunch in a small cafe near the Guggenheim before finally heading back towards our hotel area near San Zaccaria. Tired as we were by then we did manage to fit in a visit to the Greek Orthodox Church which is very close to here and then a stop for coffee and cake. Reading this, yesterday seemed to have been all about walking and eating and we didn't stop there as we had a superb meal at a small osteria called Oliva Nera, a chance find and the best meal I've eaten for a long time. Our host was absolutely charming too.

All in all a fantastic day, though we encountered stories of war and poverty along the way as Ann is a great chatterer to people in misfortune.

I took lots of photos, many of which will need to be deleted as I was playing and learning about the effects of some filters I'd bought.
