Dunedin

This is the steepest street in the world, even steeper than the famous one in San Francisco. When we drove past someone was having difficulties and needed assistance to get out of the flower beds on the side of the road.

We did a two hour tour around the city which gave us a good idea of what’s on offer, the history and more detail than you would get by driving yourself. Then we did some shopping, chemist for cough mixture for me ( yes the cold is still hanging around) and a few touristy bits and pieces.

This evening we were invited up on the helipad at the bow of the ship as we left the port. Champagne and red carpet plus a blanket. People were complaining about the cold weather but we thought it was mild.

As I sit in bed ( early night at 9.15 and it’s still light due to the latitude) I can see an albatross circling around the back of the ship with the sun shining on its wings....how lovely....
