Christmas Flowering Cherry

Despite some concerns earlier in the year as to the health of the tree, our winter flowering cherry has turned into a Christmas flowering cherry this year.  We were all ready to have it chopped down but it has put on one of the best displays we can remember of recent years.  Seems our hot summer had some benefits to plants.

It wasn't a day for outdoor photography so I clipped a small branchlet and brought it inside to a makeshift studio with the continuous LED lighting.  Using the focus shift technology in camera I took 20 images and then stacked them in Helicon Focus.
