Airport Christmas

I have never seen the airport so empty.  This was at 10.30 a.m this morning when I arrived to greet son Sam and Bridie.
The lovely daughter and I have between us made a trifle, bruschetta with eggplant and feta, egg-nog and iced two whiskey logs to take to the sister in laws this evening.  She is hosting what she calls substantial nibbles.  That means anything you don't eat with a knife and fork.   Just before we go I'll cook whitebait fritters.   We are not sharing the trifle because that is for our Christmas lunch.  This is an early blip because eggnog will be consumed later.
Best wishes for the big day however and wherever you are  celebrating.  It is lovely to have both my children home.
