The Greater Spotted Birdwatcher

Today was the first meet of the year for the U3A Bird Watching Group, and the day when we walk our usual route along the Glaven Valley to the cafe and back.  I think the best sight of the day were the 60 (approx) Siskins we saw feeding in an Alder tree. Sadly no photos, as it was very gloomy and they were some distance away.
They are a friendly and gentle group of locals and a meander with binoculars in their company is a pleasure indeed whatever the weather.
My extra is one of the harvest mice bred for release into the nature reserve where the cafe is situated.  It's not very sharp, but I was taking it through glass, and in a poorly lit hut.
