Wild Things! A Visit to the Marsh in Winter

The sky was pitching flurries, and the clouds and light were coming and going. I decided it was time to visit Millbrook Marsh, and so off I went.

The boardwalk was covered in a light snow in spots. It creaked beneath my feet. I looked up to my left and spotted a pair of creatures who seemed like they might be waiting there to welcome me: fuzzy wuzzy white-tails, dressed in their winter coats.

As I crossed the bridge over one of the spring runs, I saw a flip of reddish wings; a lady cardinal! She sat in the bushes and posed prettily for me. You may see her photo in the extras (and I encourage you to look - she's quite something!).

I adore all of these wild things and wild places. The song to accompany these two images of the wild creatures at Millbrook is this one: the Troggs, with Wild Thing.
