Seeing Beyond Looking

The perfect weather for Cheese Raclette!

It was all premeditated when I heard the Sunday weather forecast: mostly rain and windy!
So I bought some special raclette cheese, two different sorts:
Bagnes: perhaps the most well-known for raclette
Alpage: a more mature cheese with more taste and also more salty.

I made a crunchy carrot salad, my guest brought an excellent red wine and the meal was really delicious!

A little history about raclette:
"History. Raclette was mentioned in medieval texts from Swiss-German convents dating from as early as 1291. The cheese was originally consumed by peasants in the mountainous Alpine regions of Valais (Switzerland), Savoie and Haute-Savoie (France)."
I think maybe it's time for a very small glass of Kirsch liqueur (for digestive purposes, of course) and then maybe a little walk in the neighbourhood for some fresh air!
