Mistletoe

Magnificent green spheres
Invade tall trees
Sharing their nutrients:
Timeless, these.
Latin: Viscum album
Elite seducers,
Toxic to some, their
Off-white berries
Encourage kisses.

Nice to be back home, even if we are missing all our lovely family. Somerset countryside (viewed from the M5) always offers glimpses of mistletoe. Christmas is gone, but Valentine's Day's almost here, and there's something romantic and appealing about this parasitic plant that invites kisses.
