Snowdrops and crocuses

Well, I've had a long break from Blipfoto but the late winter flowers coming up have inspired me to get the camera out and I hope to get back into it again.

The crocuses this year are the best they've ever been I think, though it seems a little early for them to be fully out. Together with the snowdrops they make a lovely sight, especially when the sun catches them. It was too cloudy today for that, but even so they look lovely. If it gets any warmer, and the rain stays away for a while, I'll have to get out and start some tidying up in the garden, and then we'll have to think about plans for this year. Something wildlife friendly would be good, as it seems that the decline of most animal species is just getting worse all the time. At least we have sparrows and starlings here, and even occasional thrushes, all of which seem to be in serious decline nationally. The red kites have arrived this far north in the last year or so, and they're one of the few species doing very well it appears, but greenfinches and chaffinches, once very commonplace, are a rarity in our garden now.
