Bicyclette

Claire’s off to Stirling with Megs for an OYT weekend. I acquire gas - three 47kg bottles. Apparently you’re not allowed to lay them flat (valves certified for gas not liquid), but I wait till no one is watching and drive them home. Slowly.

Once unloaded, I fix my bike, load it into the boot, and drop the car at Broughton for its MOT. The cycle home is wonderful. I cut through Kirkurd and up over Craigurd. I could get into this.

I prune a bunch of apple and pears and then saddle up and ride out into the dark. I’ve been invited for mince ‘n’ tatties at Bill’s. It’s too hot by the stove and too cold everywhere else. The food is braw — and there’s ice cream for afters. And a tipsy ride home in the wind and rain. Perfect for clearing the heid.
