The Flight of the Curlew

The therapy dogs had a walk this morning overseas.  (At Stockton).  That was followed by breakfast at Lexies and a lot of mooching around.  I couldn't pass up the wetlands on my way home and spotted some bar tailed godwits, red necked avocets, ibis, herons, plovers and dotterels, not to mention some caspian terns.  These curlews were a bit wary of me so took off as I was on my way back to the car.  They have a distinctive call don't they.
