Favourite Things

When Len and I accompanied George on his bike ride from John O'Groats to Lands' End, we drove in a VW motor home which we nicknamed Big Bertha. I loved driving her but sadly, had to admit that arthritic hips were hampering getting in and out of the vehicle. We sold her to a good home once the trip was over.

There's something about VW buses. On returning from Oman, I bought a second hand VW Passat station wagon which served well. Ultimately, the suspension gave up and I had to sell her too. A couple of East Europeans came from Yorkshire with a breakdown van to tow her back to their garage. They were going to remove the engine to refurbish yet another VW campervan. I just like VW campervans.

And I love irises and snowdrops. So how could I resist this planter seen at The Grange garden centre yesterday afternoon?

Today has been a William day. Normally I post a photo of him in action, but the irises and snowdrops were past their best. One thing that I learnt from the flower photography course was that your flowers must be perfect specimens.

And this photo takes advantage of the new Enhance Detail released in the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC. There is a difference.

Extra shows William exploring under a chair.
