Chilled

Today was one of those awful weather days that make you wish you'd stayed home covered in blankets.  It was raw and cold and damp.  But it was my first chance to visit with Lex since her return from Hawaii a week ago.

They had a foot of snow around their house when they arrived home, and Doug did an amazingly thorough shoveling of the driveway.  But there was still a thick layer of snow on the front lawn, and I caught this little evergreen frond by the brick paving.

Lex did some wonderful artwork while away, beautiful small still lifes done in watercolor.  Each took hours to complete, but their precision was amazing (working in watercolor) and they were bright and lovely.  And it made her happy to do them.  I'm so pleased.
