Flowers

Another early start for the last day of the holidays.  We had an early dentist appointment in Edinburgh.  Just a check-up and all was fine.  BB was then keen to go for lunch!  However it was rather early, so we wandered down to Stockbridge, along the Water of Leith walkway and up to the Botanics.  It was a beautiful day, but there was a cold wind, so we spent most of our time in the glass houses.  BB’s highlight was the fish!

It was then time for lunch at a well-known pizza restaurant, where I had a voucher for a free starter and another voucher that gave us a discount on our food – so all in all a good lunch!  We made our way back up to Princes Street and decided to go to the museum to see the Robot exhibition.  I really enjoyed it, especially the historical aspects about clockwork automatons.  Some of the more modern robots were rather freaky.  We also had a look at the other exhibition that is on at the moment – on Scottish samplers.  BB was less interested in this than me, so it was a quick visit.  Some of them were very interesting, depicting different motifs from the area in which the embroidress lived at the time.  BB then needed cake to keep him going. We then paid a quick visit to M&S before boarding an overcrowded train home.  There was an apology for the lack of carriages – but I am getting so fed up with the lack of carriages that the apologies are meaningless.

I have lots of back blipping to do for the past week, and will hopefully find some time to get on with that later this week.

Tomorrow, it will be back to school for BB and work for me.  I’m already dreading having to wade through my inbox.

These lovely blooms were in the glasshouse at the Botanics.
