Almost all of my undergraduate degree went to Oxfam today. I was amazed to realise that in those impecunious three years I'd bought about 90 books, albeit mostly second hand.

The separation is a three-stage process - get them off the shelves and vacuum the years of dust off. At that stage, 11 went back onto the shelf. Pack them into the rucksack, at which point none were reprieved. Unpack them onto Oxfam's counter. Again none - though when I took my 20 or so French books in on Monday I had a change of heart about one at that point.

I am pleased that they are no longer looking down on my ignorance and I hope that other people find a use for them.
