Advent Challenge: Light in the Darkness

Walked into town this evening to collect the Mrs' car, which had been in for its MOT and service. It was already dark, and there were plenty of lights shining. The dealer's illuminated sign was one of the lights, but it is given a festive twist here by the Christmas lights, in the form of a coloured Santa Claus, on the lamppost in the background.

The town Christmas decorations are not extravagant - just a few designs like this on the lampposts on the two main streets. However, this year not all the lampposts seem to have been fitted out, and on some of those which have, the decorations have failed and are not illuminated. As a result, it all looks rather half hearted.

I had this picture in mind for yesterday's challenge (Christmas Lights) but was glad of it today when other inspiration was lacking.
