Life in Sunny Dubai

It was lovely to get to Carluccio's this morning, which is where my blip is from. I received an SMS from them saying that ladies can have a free coffee and a slice of panettone this weekend. We were told by the first lady who greeted us that the offer only applied for the person who received the SMS, but smart thing that she was, she said she would extend the offer to G!

It occurred to both of us that we rarely see this view in daylight. We enjoyed the breeze and fresh air and brought back a pizza for lunch. I got on with the ironing and stopped for the World Day of Prayer service. The day has finally arrived. The keyboardist said he could meet up for a practice at 3:45 which I guess meant we could have a quick whiz through the songs and go straight into the service.

I think we had twenty minutes, which was more than enough as he is an accomplished musician. Fortunately, he loved the songs chosen so it made it all the easier. The set-up for the service was a different story though but we got there in the end and were only ten minutes late to start.

It all went well even with a small congregation. We had snacks straight after and it was good to meet up with some longstanding friends as well as new people. Glad it is over and we're already planning for next year's service!
