Life's Little Moments

Selectively Seymour...

So shoot me - it's another squirrel blip! Couldn't help myself. The whole gang showed up and things quickly got out of hand. I had to run out on the deck and yell "squirrel stew" - yep, nothing like the threat of being turned into dinner to make them quake in their furry little boots. Not.

I took this with my (relatively) new bridge camera, using the in-camera selective color feature. It's so cool! I am hopeless with most editing software so doing this in post-production is beyond me. Being able to do it in-camera, however, is just the bee's knees. (Yes, I actually said "bee's knees" - don't dwell on it, please.)

In a desperate bid for attention, Dudley-kiev attached himself to the peanut feeder and started belting out Christmas carols. It was disgraceful. The union is in an uproar now as caroling is apparently not in the job description.

Then, the chickadees broke into spontaneous Olympic tryout routines, immediately followed by the titmice leaping into the air, yelling Look at ME!!!!!. When that didn't work, he tried doing his best imitation of an eagle. IT was mayhem. And in the midst of it all, I looked over at Seymour and - would you believe it - the cheeky little bastard WINKED at me!!! I am shocked.

We are headed out for sushi tonight (having thought better of the squirrel-stew idea) and perhaps a nip of sake. Or maybe several nips - after all, it's Friday!
