FIRST BLIPMEET - MARYPORT

A really lovely day today.  I attended my first ever Blipmeet, organised by the lovely DerwentLass.

Started off from Grange in thick fog and this persisted most of the way up the M6, but when we got to Penrith we had some blue skies until we go to just beyond Keswick, then it became misty again - but not thick fog.

It took us 1 hour 45 minutes to get there, and I directed without getting us lost - yeah!!!  After the journey we needed a coffee, so decided to try the cafe in the Wave Centre.  Sadly it doesn't usually open during the week but as we met The Manager on the way in, he wouldn't turn us away so went and made us a coffee himself and it only cost £1 each!!!  I then discovered there was a machine.

We then went to meet my fellow Blippers and was very warmly welcomed by Woodpile and DerwentLass.   What a lovely meet with really lovely people (please see attached link to see who we all are, if I can get it to work!!!) Blipmeet Maryport

Thank you to all of you for making us so welcome and for your photography tips and to Woodpile for his wonderful knowledge of the area, it is so helpful.   Hubby wanted to go to the Maritime Museum but sadly it isn't opened during the week just yet, so he wandered off around the town.  We Blippers then did our walk taking photographs and generally chatting, and of course I was in my element with so many dogs to make a fuss of.  It was a cold, breezy, misty day but still lots to see round the harbour and great company.

This was followed by a lovely lunch in the Lifeboat Inn getting warmed up again.  As it takes us 1.45 hours to get there, we decided not to do the second part of the meet, which was a shame as it would have been great to see it with the tide out too.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR A REALLY LOVELY DAY AND FOR YOUR WARM WELCOME.  It really is very much appreciated.
