Cycle of Life

Finally sitting on the deck with a glass of wine on another beautiful day, resting our bones and reflecting. Today: When I emptied the watering can to fill the bird bath, a drowned mouse floated out. Then I swept the deck of the guest cottage and there was a dead golden crowned kinglet .. perhaps it crashed into a window. Then I spent more time raking trails ( there are lots) and noticed the bones of the baby deer that died there last summer are all clean and white now. Then later today spent a bit of time with H and his chainsaw at the storm disaster site, picking up branches and noticing even more dead trees. ( I think it’s impossible but we’ll see what the tree guy says tomorrow.. expect it will be a tree blip) . This is after sending out the memorial Viking boat 2 nights ago for my friends daughter who died. Now we did just have a laugh remembering a neighbor kid here awhile ago .he was maybe 8 or 10....telling us about the “cycle of life”... things die, things are born says he. So instead of all the above possible blips, here is the baby sweater I just finished knitting for a friend’s long awaited first grandchild, new life about to enter the world soon! ( put the leftover yarn ball in the hood so you could see the hood .... it zips up the back...very handy to put on a tiny baby, have made several...for my grandchildren and others ...but don’t knit anything even this big much anymore). )
