Coming down

We had another little stroll this morning along the Leeds Liverpool Canal to the Five Rise Locks in Bingley.

We arrived at the top as this barge was just starting it’s journey down. We went to the cafe for a coffee and sat out side. When we left they were still descending the locks. We watched them go through the penultimate one and here they are leaving the locks at the bottom. They passed us along the canal and were just entering the three rise as we crossed back over the road to the car.

Always interesting to watch and they have the advantage of lock keepers to help them here.
