Wood Anemone and Common Dog Violet

Anemone nemorosa and viola riviniana

Today J came down and we had a lovely Mothers' Day lunch.  Then, because the weather was so glorious we had an amble in Crab Wood.  The wood floor was covered in flowers: primroses, celandines, violets, spurges and even some early bluebells.  Yay!!

There were also thousands and thousands of wood anemones, lovely white stars lighting up the undergrowth.  Here is one with a violet.
