A Grand Day Out

We had a rather lovely day today - after Archie had a big long walk up the hill with Isobel, we took a jaunt out to East Lothian, with lunch in a new (to us) dog friendly cafe which was Very Good.

The young chap who is making our kitchen cabinet invited us out to see the progress and have a tour of his workshop. We were very impressed with the facilities! Every tool imaginable is there. Check it out.

Our cabinet is coming on a treat, and might be finished by the weekend, though it's R's birthday tomorrow, so I don’t think he'll spend much time in the workshop. No worries, we can wait.

The workshop is situated near Haddington, so we invited Rufus and his mum to come for a wee drive with us. We eventually found the cafe we'd heard about - The Loft. It's a bakery as well, so all homemade goodies, excellent menu, very good flat whites, dog friendly and no muzak! 9.5/10

I did more walking than I’ve done for a long time - 3,480 steps. Not much compared to most folk, but it's a start. We walked round and round Haddington, trying to find the cafe. But it was worth it!

Rufus loves the car, and sits on his mum's knee (not ideal, but just for this trip) and enjoys the views. Archie lies down in the back (clipped in to his harness) closes his eyes, willing it to be over. I sit with him, sick bag at the ready. But he wasn’t sick! What a grand day out.
