Stung

Not a good day to be a Falkirk fan. We started the day in third-bottom place in the SPFL Championship and with a home match against the bottom-placed side to follow.

Despite having most of the play in the early stages, it was Alloa Athletic who scored the opening goal about seven minutes from half-time. Falkirk, however, scored an equaliser shortly after the restart and we hoped that would lead to the win that would put us six points clear of our near neighbours with four games remaining in the season.

However, it was not to be. Instead, it was Alloa - whose nickname is The Wasps - who stung us with a goal five minutes from full time to leave us equal on points and in real danger of relegation.

Falkirk are now ahead of the bottom-placed side only on goal difference, but having played one game more. It's going to be a nervous end to the season.
