No 25 passes through Wittersham Road station

A day at the signalbox at Wittersham Road on the Kent and East Sussex Railway.  Had a trainee with me today, so little for me to do in the box other than supervise and chat to visitors and passers by.

We had two people join a train here which is a rarity, most days I’m on duty the station is deserted most of the day with only flurries of activity when two trains cross at the station as in today’s blip. The DMU waits in the platform while the steamer passes on the through line on its way to Bodiam with the last train of the day.

The two aforementioned passengers look on as the engine begins to work hard on the approach to Wittersham Bank, the noisy bark of the engine meeting the criteria for today’s MonoMonday challenge: Making a Noise. A grey day which suited a mono photograph. The extra is of the same train making its noisy way up Wittersham Bank into the mist

Hopefully, I’ll get the results of the challenge out tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how the challenge has been interpreted.
