Staithes - the classic view

An image of this small (ex) fishing village village on the North Yorkshire Coast immortalised in a Joe Cornish photograph.  It is an iconic view of the village and it always looks better with water in the beck. (The tide was coming in as we left.)   We spent ages watching these mallards (in extra) that were being particular aggressive as there was only one spare female.  Then along came this family of 14 ducklings, with dad and mum leading the way.  He was a good dad and seemed to be able to protect them from the other males.  I wonder how long they will survive though.

On my moorland circuit first things my wildlife sighting was of a pair of linnets.  My photos are not good, but good enough for identification.
