Nicky and her Nikon

A sunny Saturday

I woke up with a thick head, a bit of a temperature and not feeling too good - I took a dose of Day Nurse and later when I felt much better I went for a walk around the neighbourhood as it was such a lovely hot and sunny day it would have been a shame to stay indoors. It still feels strange to walk without Murdoch but at least I am getting out and walking again.

Gavin had the awful job of going to the vet hospital today to collect Murdoch's ashes which we want to scatter in our local woods where he has walked since he was a puppy. We did consider taking them to Switzerland to scatter in the mountains there, as he absolutely loved his holidays there, but then we decided to rather keep them close to home.

This afternoon we went to friends for a BBQ. It felt like summer sitting outside in the sunshine, it got so warm. I noticed the shaft of sunlight coming over Thomas' head and quickly took this photo. We had a lovely afternoon and early supper with our friends, it was a great to catch up and the meal was delicious.

Adam arrived home when we were out. He was due to come back on Thursday but he has been trying to finish writing up his lab project and he wanted the first draft done before he came home. He has not quite finished it so in true Adam fashion he will probably stay up all night to do it. Luke finished his dissertation today before we went out so he is very pleased - of course the editing and bibliography notes will take about another week of work.

I cannot remember ever having such hot and sunny weather at Easter before, it has been glorious!
