The 3 Amigos on a Suspension Bridge

Today we needed to get from Kettlewell to our next night's accommodation in Pateley Bridge. We decided it was a bit too far to walk all the way, so we took a bus to Grassington and walked from there...just as well we did as it was still about a 15 mile walk again, some of it over rough marshy moorland. In fact we'd pondered taking a taxi all the way as Storm Hannah was forecast to lash us with wind & rain; happily however, Hannah turned out to be a not-very-damp squib here - we had only blustery showers and some weak sunshine.

Having heard the weather forecast the Amigos were very happy to snuggle in my backpack again right from the start of the hike. However at one point we had to walk across this pedestrian suspension bridge over the River Wharfe: the bridge swayed quite a bit and I heard a muffled complaint from Amigos that they were feeling queasy and they wanted to come out for some fresh air. Naturally I didn't want them being sick all over the things in my backpack so I got them out quickly. Fortunately they soon recovered and then of course they wanted their photo taken on this interesting bridge; needless to say, Trigger had to be clever and climb up on the side! Happily he didn't fall into the river.
