A day in Bath

We had a late night, watching a film in bed called The Green Mile, with Tom Hanks. It was enjoyable but didn't finish until 12,40am. Anyway, that's the beauty of not having to be anywhere, by a set time. We both slept well, and were up about 8.30. Breakfast was another full English. My diet will begin again Wednesday!! The manager wanted a word with us after breakfast. What had we done wrong? I was worried (unnecessarily, but that's what I do). He said our shower pump/pressure needed fixing, and so they needed us to move rooms. We packed up everything, then left for a day in the city.

We began in The Roman Baths. Amazing history. In fact the buildings in Bath are the most striking thing about this city. After our baths visit, we found a little coffee shop for a refreshment break, and then we proceeded to do lots of walking. Up to the circus and then to the Royal Crescent. A walk back through some gardens and into the town. We browsed shops, stopped for a beer (unheard of for us) and eventually stopped at Pizza express for an early dinner.

We've just got back to our hotel, to be shown to our new room. We've been upgraded and now have a 4 poster bed! (see my extra, although I'm sure you all know what a four poster bed looks like). A lovely surprise for our final 2 nights.

Feeling exhausted now, but we have a beautiful room to enjoy the evening in. The Durrells, Victoria and a lovely hot bubbly bath! My regular Sunday....just posher!
