A Cheery Planter Outside Our Offices

One of the really nice things about working at a major university is the little details, like the fact that there are planters of beautiful flowers everywhere. This is a quick snapshot of the one planter outside my work building that I took on my way into the office on this morning.

Those yellow flowers down front are ranunculus, which is a favorite of mine because of all those neat, organized rows of petals. And I think the ones in back might be snapdragons, but I'm no expert. They did make a cheery sight on what was otherwise a mostly overcast day.

They may be ranunculus, but they remind me of great big buttercups. So here's a song for that: the Foundations, with Build Me Up Buttercup.
