A time for everything

Welcoming pig!

Friday
Running behind with my blips again!
This morning we had a Symphony concert at Music Hall. We rarely go to the Friday morning performances, preferring the evening, however we added this concert a bit late, and we already had something on for the Saturday evening, so went for the Friday morning. We left what we thought should have been ample time to park the car and get to our seats. Unfortunately, we discovered the car park where we always park was full, and by the time we ‘d found alternate parking and walked back, we were late. So we had to watch the first movement of the Mozart violin concerto on a tv screen in the lobby, then they let us into the Hall, but since our seats were in the middle of a long row, we didn’t think we would have time to get to our seats before the music started again, so we watched the rest of the concerto from the back. The second half of the concert was Mahler Symphony No 5, one of my favorite pieces of music, and it was a wonderful performance, unfortunately slightly marred by the child (part of a school group) sitting behind me, who kept kicking my seat! After the concert, we went for lunch to Jean Robert’s table, a French restaurant we really like. The canopied entrance is adorned by this decorated pig, I assume a remnant of the Big Pig Gig, though I couldn’t find confirmation of my supposition!
