Friendship

This was the theme for the 80th birthday party of Friend Josie today… the reason I came home from the island.    Lots of friends from different parts of her life at a lovely fancy restaurant downtown.   I think 1,300 ? years of friendships she counted (How long she had known the people who “made the cut” for the party given by her son and her husband’s daughter.  (My number was 27 - years since we met…  but H would have had a bigger number since she was an excellent social worker in his medical department before we met… yes she copied his red glasses!)    OH my,  she has an art (docent like) group, a hiking group, 4 book clubs, neighborhood groups…so many different people..so many friendships.   Overwhelming for the likes of me  ( I was at a table with 5 super interesting people I did not know)  and I couldn’t get a picture I liked without too many people in it.    So this will have to do for now.  It’s how she looks.  

My smart, funny, caring, interesting, arty, colorful friend who is now 80.    She’ll be at the island book club camp this year….more in a few weeks….I'm going back up tomorrow.  Yay!  :-)
