Wound up in Wexford

Watching the worker

I've had a rather lazy day - I just couldn't motivate myself to do anything very much today.  It was quite cold, and rather windy.  Even the birds have stayed away, and I've been sitting in the garden room, sewing.

W, on the other hand, has been very busy.  He reused some pavers, concreting them in by the front porch so we can stand some water butts out there - makes watering the roses easier.

Then he decided to tackle a job that has been niggling us for some time.  We fight a constant battle against gravel from the front yard trickling (or pouring) down the slope onto the patio.  So he has been threatening to concrete the slope (with gravel embedded - will it stay?), and a little step up from the front yard.  The step is hopefully small enough that we can easily get the brown bin in and out of the garden, but enough to keep the gravel within the yard. It remains to be seen if this does the job intended.
