A day in the life

Strawberries

It's been a windy, chilly day today, not much fun being out but I went for a walk anyway, as I try to do most everyday.

In The Garden, not far away, the brothers are experimenting growing strawberries in a drainpipe. I'm sure it will work fine, they usually know what they're doing. It's well protected from the wind and predators like rabbits and other small strawberry eaters but it'll be some weeks before we see any red berries. Every commercial planter is trying to get their berries ready for Midsummer festivities the 21 of June but one vendor is already selling greenhouse grown strawberries for 50 Skr per kilo, about 4 pounds or 5 US dollars. The price usually falls to around 30 Skr per kilo later on.
