Arrival and Departure

It seemed like a long day of travelling. Our flight from Malpensa to Catania was slightly delayed, and then my case was one of the last to arrive on the carousel (for the second day running). As a result we just missed the bus from Batavia to Taormina. We got to out hotel on the main street of the old city just after 16:30.

After check in we had a wander round and stopped for a drink at a bar Piazza IX Aprile. Later we had a pizza before returning to the roof top terrace of the hotel.

I didn’t remember Taormina was so high with commanding views of the coastline. While we admired the view from Piazza IX Aprile we saw this cruise liner just leaving the bay. Earlier from the bus we had seen the launches taking people back to the ship.

Cloudy and a little cool to sit outside in the evening.
