First rose.

Well not quite but this (pink) ‘Shropshire Lad’ is the first shrub rose to be fully out. It is a favourite and has a lovely scent.
I wanted something a bit more cheerful than yesterday’s blip!

The climbing rose ‘ Maegold’ has been flowering since before we got back from holiday. It grows up past the kitchen window and over the garage roof. It’s petals litter the back door step when the wind blows them off.
I normally wait to photograph it when the Clematis ‘Comptesse de Bouchard’ is also in flower as they make a really nice combination. You can see that the clematis buds are not quite there yet (thumbnail).

A really god sing this morning learning a new song - George Ezra’s ‘Pretty Shining People’. Splendid.
Just a bit of gardening and ironing since then so it was definitely the highlight of the day.
