Holiday day 14: around Scarista (2)

Everyone was sheltering from the rain today, including these sheep next to the shed in Northton that used to belong to our friend David (before he and Arabella moved to Lanarkshire, just a few weeks ago).

The hazelhs are happily entertained whatever the weather. First we went out for coffee/tea at the Temple Café on its first day of opening under new ownership, and enjoyed coffee/tea and scones with a Russian-Italian cycling duo. Then we stocked up on supplies from 36 Northton for our lunch today and a picnic on the beach tomorrow when the weather forecast predicts wall to wall sunshine!

This afternoon we lazed about in our traditional Hebridean bed and breakfast, mainly reading and playing Scrabble. We also chatted to our landlady and helped her look for her mother's wedding ring, which she lost some time yesterday. Mr hazelh has quite a reputation for finding lost objects and animals, but so far we haven't found the ring.

This evening followed the same pattern of the past two days: a ride up to Talla Na Mara for supper with fantastic views to Taransay, then a 'catching the last bus back home when you're drinking Bacardi' cycle 'home' again.

I can't tell you how excited we are at the prospect of a sunny day tomorrow!

Exercise today: 14 miles of cycling.
